Each concept is a catalogue row on this art. Facet tags appear only when they are stored on the entry.
Concept
Seiryoku-Zenyo (maximum efficient use of energy)
One of Judo's two founding principles: the most effective use of physical and mental energy, applied not only in technique but to self-improvement and society at large.
Concept
Jita-Kyoei (mutual welfare and benefit)
Judo's second founding principle: acting so that one's own effort benefits others as well as oneself, since pursuing only self-interest leads to mutual destruction.
Concept
Kuzushi-Tsukuri-Kake (the three stages of a throw)
The structural decomposition of every Judo throw into three phases: breaking the opponent's balance (kuzushi), fitting the body into position (tsukuri), and executing the throw (kake).
