Ashi-garami (足緘)

Tori wraps the left leg around uke's right leg from the outside and below to apply pressure to the knee joint, typically executed following a failed tomoe-nage or similar throw.

Technique
A standing ashi-waza throw: tori breaks uke's balance to the rear or right-rear corner, shifting uke's weight onto the trailing heel, then reaps that leg from outside with tori's own leg to take uke to the mat.

O-soto-gari (大外刈, major outer reap)

A te-waza throw: tori breaks uke's balance to the right-front corner, opens the body and steps the blocking leg in front of uke's right foot, then pulls uke down and over that leg with both hands.

An ashi-waza throw: tori opens uke's stance a little, breaks uke's balance to the front or right-front corner so uke bends forward, then reaps uke's inner thigh deeply from the inside with the back of tori's own thigh while turning.
