A standing ashi-waza throw: tori breaks uke's balance to the rear or right-rear corner, shifting uke's weight onto the trailing heel, then reaps that leg from outside with tori's own leg to take uke to the mat.
O-soto-gari (大外刈, major outer reap) 大外刈

O-goshi (大腰, major hip throw) 大腰

An ashi-waza throw: at the instant uke steps forward or backward and is on the verge of placing weight onto the stepping foot, tori sweeps that foot from the rear, side, or front, taking uke down sideways.
De-ashi-harai (出足払, advanced/forward foot sweep) 出足払

A te-waza throw: tori breaks uke's balance to the right-front corner, opens the body and steps the blocking leg in front of uke's right foot, then pulls uke down and over that leg with both hands.
Tai-otoshi (体落, body drop) 体落

An ashi-waza throw: tori opens uke's stance a little, breaks uke's balance to the front or right-front corner so uke bends forward, then reaps uke's inner thigh deeply from the inside with the back of tori's own thigh while turning.
Uchi-mata (内股, inner-thigh reaping throw) 内股

An osaekomi-waza hold-down: tori, positioned at uke's right side facing uke's head, grips the judogi under uke's right armpit with the left hand and behind uke's shoulder with the right arm passed around uke's neck, pinning uke's upper body to the mat.
Kesa-gatame (袈裟固, scarf hold) 袈裟固

An osaekomi-waza hold-down: tori kneels above uke's head, reaches under uke's shoulders to grip both sides of uke's belt, and presses the body down onto uke's to pin uke to the mat.

Sukui-nage (掬投) 掬投

A counter to an attempted harai-goshi or other hip throw: tori bends the knees to block uke's attack, shifts the hips and wraps uke's waist, then lifts onto the hips and throws by twisting.
Utsuri-goshi (移腰) 移腰

Timed to uke's own forward step: tori breaks balance to the front-right corner while pivoting left, extends the right leg straight across uke's lower abdomen/upper thighs, then swings the leg up and back while twisting/pulling down with both hands.
O-guruma (大車) 大車

Tori floats uke's balance to the right-front corner, releases the right grip and turns left to wrap the right arm around uke's right arm, wrapping uke's body around tori's own, and continues the motion to throw uke forward.
Soto-makikomi (外巻込) 外巻込

Uki-otoshi (浮落) 浮落

Yoko-wakare (横分) 横分

A counter technique: as uke pulls, tori shifts and wraps the pulling arm around uke's back, positions the knees against uke's knee-hollows, advances while falling backward into a bridge posture, then rotates uke sideways, releasing the pulling hand to grasp behind the shoulder while pushing up on the abdomen to complete the rotation.

A counter to an attempted harai-goshi or other hip throw: tori shifts out of the way, wraps both arms around uke's waist from behind, then swings uke up to throw onto the back.
Ushiro-goshi (後腰) 後腰

Tori wraps both arms around uke's waist from the right side, pulls in close, then lifts and falls backward to throw uke over tori's left shoulder.
Ura-nage (裏投) 裏投

Sumi-otoshi (隅落) 隅落

Yoko-gake (横掛) 横掛

A variation of kesa-gatame performed from uke's side, facing toward uke's head, with tori's knee inserted under uke's armpit.
Kuzure-kesa-gatame (崩袈裟固) 崩袈裟固

Kata-gatame (肩固) 肩固

A variation of kami-shiho-gatame in which tori positions one hand over uke's arm and grips the back of uke's collar, while wrapping the left arm around the back of uke's neck and shoulder to grasp the belt.
Kuzure-kami-shiho-gatame (崩上四方固) 崩上四方固

From uke's right side, tori leans over at a right angle and holds uke down on the back with the body, gripping the belt with the left arm under uke's left shoulder and passing the right arm between uke's legs to grip the trousers.

Sitting astride uke's chest, tori leans forward to press uke's upper body down with the chest.
Tate-shiho-gatame (縦四方固) 縦四方固

Typically applied when a supine uke attempts to prevent juji-gatame by locking the arms together: tori removes the leg nearest uke's head, uses both legs as in kesa-gatame, and raises the upper body to face uke — or alternatively places the left leg across uke's neck and under the arm while holding uke's right arm.
Uki-gatame (浮固) 浮固

Tori places the back toward a prone uke, wraps the right arm around uke's neck and the left arm around one or both legs, and presses uke down with the back.
Ura-gatame (裏固) 裏固

Facing uke, tori grips uke's collar with crossed hands, thumbs inside the collar, palms down, and strangles by applying pressure to both sides of the neck with the outer edges of both hands.
Nami-juji-jime (並十字絞) 並十字絞

Facing uke, tori slips the fingers of crossed hands inside both lapels, palms up, and strangles by applying pressure to both sides of the neck.
Gyaku-juji-jime (逆十字絞) 逆十字絞

Facing uke, tori crosses the arms to grip uke's left lapel with the left hand (fingers inside) and right lapel with the right hand (thumb inside), then strangles with that cross-gripped action.

From behind uke, tori puts the right inner forearm across the front of uke's neck (palm down), clasps the hands above uke's left shoulder, and strangles by pressure across the front of the throat using both arms together, without gripping the judogi.
